My Review of Knownhost

Just realized I have been here for 7 years, don't blink or life will pass you by.

First the back story. The host I had previously was outstanding when I first signed up. It was smaller company that only offered VPS and dedicated servers. Very active forum with lot of customers and you could even get response from the engineers and the owner. Support was quick and knowledgeable, as good as it is here. After I was there a few years they started offering shared hosting and buying up a bunch of smaller shared hosting companies, things went down hill quick. Instead of minutes tickets turned into hours.

Just to be clear I'm not one to abuse the ticket system. I had perhaps 20 tickets over a 10 period and a lot of them were for initial setup of the VPS. The final straw was because of a DDOS attack with requests coming in about 3000 per second over 1 week period. I don't expect miracles but the solution of null routing the IP until the attack subsided combined with hours between ticket responses and no advice on what I could do was the end of the line for me. I was already considering moving at that point because of another ticket that took a day to resolve.

I showed up here 7 years ago on the advice of someone else. Pleasantly found support to be fast and knowledgeable and then a short time later they announced shared hosting plans and I thought to myself Noooooooooooooo! here we go again.

Well I'm still here. Support is still as outstanding as the day I signed up. Give yourself a pat on the back KH. Keep doing what you're doing.

Now that I'm done kissing ass where is my free stuff? :)
 
I thought about that, too, when they announced shared hosting plans, the support can be overwhelmed and they might hire lower level tech support. Unless they separate different tech team that handles shared, from those of VPS.
 
Truth be told, these forums aren't looked at as much anymore due to the low activity, so I apologize that this reply comes late.

I've been with KnownHost for eight years now. I trekked through support, worked in QA and now handle the sales and billing aspect of it.

I'm a firm believer that our support is one of the best in the industry. I watch these folks work tickets daily, always reaching to find the solution to customers problems. It's reviews such as these that make me glad to be here, knowing that we're still doing it right after all of these years and hopefully doing it right for years to come. I don't have any plans to go anywhere, hopefully you don't either.

Thanks for continuing to be part of KnownHost and helping us continue to ever move forward.

Could probably be arranged, I got a bunch of KnownHost shirts I gotta do something with.

Unless they separate different tech team that handles shared, from those of VPS.

Still the same centralized support team, we handle it all. :)
