How to Install a Custom WordPress Theme
If you’ve decided to take the plunge and use a custom theme in WordPress but would like a quick step-by-step guide to making life easier, then read on. These steps assume that you’ve already acquired the custom WordPress theme and have it as a zip file on your local computer.
It’s always a good idea to make a backup before performing major changes to a site!
- Login to the WordPress Admin area
- Click Appearance, then Themes
- Click Add New
- Click Upload Theme
- Click Browse and locate the zip file on your computer
- Click Install Now
- Click Appearance, Themes, and Activate
