Every hosting account at KnownHost is entitled to a free SSL certificate to put front-line security in place – just say the word and we’ll provide you a free cert. Premium certs available for a fee.
Backups
The backup system is free, automated and robust. It includes a full system snapshot each day, with emails, files and databases backed up onto a different server. 3 are retained (2 daily, 1 weekly).
cPanel
Most plans include cPanel control panel free of charge, enabling you to quickly and easily do routine hosting functions. Headless plans are available, if you’d prefer not having a panel – no problem.
DDoS
Automated attacks on websites are all too common, which is why we’ve placed free DDoS protection in front of every hosting account. Security is something we take seriously!

With appRain hosting, you’re not limited to just appRain being installed on the hosting account. Feel free to try other apps and scripts at the same time – they’re included too.
Our ToS and AUP spell out exactly what’s okay, and what isn’t, so check them to get familiar with the restrictions. The short answer is simply that we don’t allow hacking, warez, spamming or intellectual property infringing content or software. If what you’re wanting to do is illegal, then do it elsewhere (or not at all)!
Our system is running from the instant your account is created, automatically taking snapshots every day. The snapshots are transferred to another server, giving you protection in case of a disaster. All email, files, images, databases, etc, are stored, so that you can login and, within a few clicks, restore everything from the previous day, two days ago, or a week ago. It’s a very effective system that should help give you peace of mind – particularly when dev work is underway and any loss could mean lost work.
