We have created this easy start guide to assist you during the purchase of one of our hosting packages. VERY IMPORTANT: If you currently are hosting with another company please do not close that account until your domain and DNS are switched to knownhost.com. If you have any further questions please check out our pre-sales folder in the knowledgebase or email sales@knownhost.com.
Step 1 - Take a big sigh of relief. The search is over; you have found your new home.
Step 2 - In order to purchase a hosting package you must have your own domain or you can order a domain through us. Domains are $8.95/year.
Step 3 - Proceed to the order wizard and fill out the order form as accurately as possible to ensure timely delivery of your hosting package.
Please note: If paying by credit card, please make sure the name and address on the credit card match the name and address provided under domain billing contact.
Step 4 - Once we have verified your account and payment has been received you will be emailed your login information.
Step 5 - For shared/reseller packages please update your DNS to the ones we provided you in the login information email and point your domain to them. For VPS packages please create your custom DNS, which we provided you in the login information email, at your register and point your domain to them.
Please note: DNS propagation will take between 12-48 hours to update.
Step 6 - Once your domain is safe and secure with KnownHost you can close your previous account, if you switched to us from another provider, and you are all set.
